"Making every day count; growing and achieving together."

Military Kids Club (Heroes)

Dunstone Primary School is proud to be part of a unique pupil voice group formed in the City of Plymouth for the support of Service children and young people called Military Kids Club (Heroes).

The group works, actively, in harmony, to ensure that every member has a voice and is able to use it for the benefit of all.   Members of Heroes are Plymouth's ambassadors and young advocates for Service families. Most importantly, they are friends for each other, especially in times of need.

At Dunstone our Parent Support Advisor, Mrs Goodsell, runs a weekly Heroes Club at lunchtime at school for children of service families.

In November 2016 some of our pupils took part in a Plymouth Great Poppy Bake Off, making cakes with the poppy as the theme. Several children went through to the finals and Hannah Coleman was the winner in her age group. Here is a photo of her at the final. Well done!

Amy and Meg from year 6 were then invited to present a cheque for over £100 from the proceeds of the Poppy Bake Off sale at Dunstone to the Royal British Legion.

Three Year 6 Students (Kyle, Michael and Josh) also represented the school by attending the Remembrance Ceremony on Burrow Hill with Mrs Goodsell.
